A tour de force analysis about modern society’s lack of moral foundation and the resulting collapse of a collective vision for a shared life in which all play essential, well-defined roles as caretakers of common values.

We have reached a point where we can either rise morally to new heights or descend into ever deeper darkness, desperation and despair. We must decide if we wish to break free from our current course predicated on fallacies and folly so we may reach a new Age of Enlightenment in which we truly see the light.

Not until some powerful republicans who are respected by other republicans come forward to denounce -rump, nothing, I fear, will happen. That sap, McConnell, had a chance during the impeachment trial, but chose to do nothing. Who among today’s toady republican leaders will come forward? To me, Brooks’ “analysis” is just a bunch of empty words. Nor until the leaders - including those of the evangelical religious sects - come forward to endorse the common good will anything happen.
