I had JUST read a brief explanation of Communism and how it is an overused bugaboo.

Now this.

Trump & Chumps really have no imagination & couldn't come up with anything original.

They regularly ‘return fire’ when rightly accused, by using virtually the same accusations as their (more correct & honest) accusers. (YOU did it! NO! You did it! It’s all your fault!) 🙄

Notice there’s ZERO discussion or braggadocio re: the Economy?

— the WAR? 🔥

— the U.S. allies that USED TO BE, before Trump claimed his 🔱 Emperorship now encompasses ALL THE WORLD?

* Now they’re just hunkered down & meeting among themselves more often, looking for better trade options & developing alternate defence systems? 🙄

Trump is a tired old re-tread joke. He stood in his air conditioned hutch while speechifying, and people not even allowed bottled water fell to the ground in the heat. But he was going to “show that he COULD” last how long … 3 hrs a-yapping his nonsense?

- If he strayed from the script he wd have sounded like the idiot he is within 5-10 min.

The brilliance of Marx was in the mid -1800s but these jokers are still afraid that might have to share their candy stolen on the playground in 2015.

I am coming around to the thought that Substack authors and their ilk, as well-meaning as they are, do not fully grasp what the average elderly Joe or Joan in America is going through right now with all the hands out for support, while worthy causes we all, through the gov't, have been subsidizing; example, USAID for decades, then all of a sudden - banzai. Justice denied is not restored by substitution when the means of support are toppling. Somehow exploitative people/entities need to be taken down a peg or three.

Until I see a path suggesting how to capture authoritarian greed with the ease that USAID was eliminated from the honey pot, I do not agree that shifting the voting ranks from R to D will work out for a lot of older people like myself who are barely hanging on.

Sorry for the outburst. I have had a tough week/month/decade, as have we all...

There. Now I feel better. Good luck with that in November.

USAID spent $21.7 billion in fiscal year (FY) 2024. This was 🔻0.3% of the $6.78 trillion in overall federal spending. The department ranked 19th among federal agencies in total spending.

But you don’t complain about how much is being spent on unnecessary wars?

— 0.3% to help keep other poorer nations & people from 🔻epidemics that might in turn reach OUR shores? And cause that horrible ‘immigration’ problem worldwide?

— ‘A penny spent in prevention is worth a life.’ — and it may just be your life.

... Your point, I assume, is that depriving poor people of a miniscule % of a gargantuan budget amount, since they are s---hole inhabitants is nothing compared to the amount of shekels thrown away on behalf of a president who says he won 7 of them? Or is it that my complaint is misplaced?

I only wanted to point out that the whole Trumpian idea of "them that has, gits" is unpresidential in the extreme if he wants to rob Peter to pay Paul, which seems to be the underlying raison d'etre for his grifting. I certainly agree that Mr. T is spending WAAAAY too much on wars while he whines about not getting a Nobel Peace Prize.

Awwww, too bad, Mr. Grifter. At least you have enough money to pay your lawyers. And tell us all how much you pay the IRS every year. Your whole presidential shtick is, to put it mildly, revolting.

Revolting in the extreme — criminal class revolting, Judgement Day class.

* Sorry to hear you’ve had a difficult decade. At 76 certain aspect of my life are in decline but there are still things to be grateful for.

Other than pointing out the small amount of USAID $ *relative to the overall budget … my point is that helping these many poor people is in our own health interests also … Monkeypox DID reach America, Covid & AIDS DID travel the world.

— plus it’s hypocritical for R’s to complain of IMMIGRATION & then do things to increase it … they are NOT ‘Thinkers’ in the least, employing mainly the dominant, reptilian aspects of what brainpower they DO have.

— but spending endlessly on WAR (white American world domination) not even mentioned? How much has U.S. spent on war 2026? 12 digit counter here … but we can’t afford to feed poor American children or give less than a single digit % on international caregiving that may eventually affect us negatively. 🙄

🔻 https://warspend.com/ ** an ongoing count of $ spent on just the 🔻Iran war. And Trump wants MORE now, to prove himself & pat his bruised ego.

Some things deserve a good rant.

I wonder, Jay Jay, how many Dems running for public office can speak common sense.

This would oblige them to cite movies, songs, books which speak to the larger hurt among the bottom 93%.

If Dems could go to these specifics, wouldn't this contrast them marvelously with the enablers of the moneyed elites yet relying on the hackneyed, trite, and empty sloganeering?
