I’m not a psychologist, but this lady scares me. (Has she been fully vetted?) An obsession of this magnitude cannot be construed as mere devotion. One possibility is what I would call “reverse narcissism”. She is beautiful because she is the epitome of selflessness: He is “all that matters” to her. You might say she sees herself as a Saint of the cult, which is pretty twisted, but it agrees with what psychologists say about identity fusion.

Here’s the scary part: When the over-the-edge adulation stops getting her what she wants — reciprocal love — Harp may display narcissistic collapse. Such a person is unpredictable at best, and as you said, she has “extraordinary access” to Trump.

Right now, the energy of this relationship is running in the right directions: She continues to provide services that make her very life more valuable than several others on the plane in Turkey; He defends her like a lover or even a spouse, particularly against the innocuous questions from female journalists.

What happens when Trump tires of her, as he has done with just about everything in his life, especially women? I don’t want to be there on the day they take Harp’s security badge away. Trust me. You don’t want to be either.

Adulation. Sycophancy. Fawning, unquestioning loyalty.

And competence?
